Laura Anderson hits back at mum-shamers

Laura Anderson slams mum-shamers after suffering backlash for detailing her parenting decisions with baby daughter Bonnie Rose

Laura Anderson hit back at mum-shamers on Saturday before they had a chance to accuse her over her ‘controversial’ parenting decisions.

The former Love Island star, 32, gave birth to a baby girl, Bonnie Rose, earlier this month, whom she shares with on/off boyfriend Gary Lucy.

And she has been openly sharing an insight into her life as a new parent with her fans on Instagram.

The influencer took to Instagram to share she left Bonnie Rose to ‘cry it out’, after she was ‘out of ideas’ on how to stop her from crying.

She wrote: ‘What a day and it’s not even over. Not one nap longer than 20 minutes and fed every hour. I’ve had to let Bonnie cry it out as I’m out of ideas.

‘3 weeks today, wow what a turn from angel child to (devil emoji).

‘Praying tonight this doesn’t continue and she settles because I am exhausted.

‘Who’s idea was it to have a baby,’ she joked with laughing crying emojis.

But before any negative comments were thrown her way, Laura shared another post explaining her reasonings behind the decision.

Defending herself, she wrote: ‘When I say cry it out I meant about 2.5seconds so I could think of another solution as it was the first time she’s cried so hard and I wasn’t able to quickly rectify, chill peeps.

‘She skipped a nap and was overtired so it just spiralled. Tomorrow is a new day. Currently unblocking milk ducts in the bath woo!’

It comes after she proudly showed off post-partum figure on Wednesday, as she shared a video of herself in her mirror and opened up on her recovery after giving birth to her daughter.

Over the clip, she wrote: ‘I was just going to share this with my friends and family but who cares. This is my post-partum body day 12.

‘I actually feel alright today. (I swear it’s the fake tan) I’m starting pelvic floor exercises tomorrow to bring the abdominal muscles back together but feel pretty good today.’

Amazing: She wore a black bra and a pair of grey cycling shorts as she turned to the side to show off her body, before pulling her bra down to show she had cabbage leaves on her breasts

Open: On Tuesday, Laura gave her fans a candid update on Bonnie’s feeding journey, as she shared a nude snap of her breastfeeding

Laura then joked: ‘P.S I hop you like my disposable pants and no I haven’t washed my hair for some time.’

However, in the caption of the post she confessed that she has found post partum ‘the hardest part of pregnancy’.

She penned: ‘Post Partum is without a doubt the hardest part of pregnancy in my opinion. Not that I’m complaining, life is wonderful and I’m very lucky to have a healthy baby girl in my arms but it’s a lot.

‘I’d love to share my recovery must haves for anyone due soon and just in general what I’ve learned and needed most after labour.

‘Hats off to all the mummas and supportive fathers out there, I actually think there should be some emotional support for partners after birth too.’

Laura continued by encouraging new mothers to be proud of their ‘perfect’ postpartum bodies and allow themselves to heal.

She said: ‘Anyway not my usual post but I just wanted to say whatever your postpartum body looks like just know it’s perfect, you are healing and even if we don’t go back to our old selves maybe the new us will be even better.

‘I say this as I currently soothe my saggy boobies in the bath thanking them for feeding bubba everyday. All my love L & B.’
