Kim Kardashian is compared to C-3PO, The Terminator and RoboCop after footage emerges of her struggling to walk in Balenciaga tape outfit

She turned the heads of the fashion elite with her striking ensemble at Balenciaga’s Paris Fashion Week show, in which she was wrapped up neck to toe in caution tape.

Yet Kim Kardashian’s iconic ensemble came at a cost, with footage later emerging of the socialite struggling to walk while bound up tight in the tape.

Twitter soon erupted with memes poking fun at the clip, with Kim’s awkward stance resulting in her being compared to C-3PO, The Terminator and RoboCop.

The New York Times fashion director Vanessa Friedman was an eye-witness and posted a photo of Kim from the show, writing, ‘Kim Kardashian at the #Balenciaga show, wrapped in Balenciaga packing tape. She makes a sticky tape-y sound when she walks.’

She later added: ‘Side view of Kim in her Balenciaga packing tape outfit. ‘“I’m scared it’s going to rip when I sit down. Should I just let it rip?” (It didn’t rip.)’

Hilarious: She turned the heads of the fashion elite with her striking ensemble, yet Kim Kardashian’s iconic ensemble came at a cost and she was mocked mercilessly online

Four assistants were required to get Kim into the outfit, with the SKIMS mogul sharing videos in which her team were seen wrapping up her body from neck to toe.

She covered her famous curves in a skintight black bodysuit and sported pointed-toe black heeled boots.

The reality star was seen leaning back in a chair as the assistants busily wound bands of tape around her arms and legs.

Additional rolls of tape were seen on a table in the background as the team worked to create the makeshift Balenciaga bodysuit.

‘Getting ready for the @balenciaga show,’ Kim wrote on the first clip that she shared to her Instagram Stories.

Kim – who was announced as ambassador for the luxe brand last month – was one of many A-list names in attendance after Balenciaga invited guests to their show by sending them personalised broken iPhones.

Rather than the traditional paper invites, the French label opted to send out personalised mobiles engraved with the date and time of its Fall/Winter 2022 show at Paris Fashion Week.

Described as a ‘genuine artifact from the year 2022’, the phone – and the damage caused to it – is real, but is not functioning and should be used ‘for display purposes only’.

Check it out: The New York Times fashion director Vanessa Friedman was an eye-witness and remarked on the noise the tape ensemble made

The invitation read: ‘Please find personalized information on the back of this phone. This is a genuine artifact from the year 2022.

‘It is nonfunctional and to be used for display purposes only. This document certifies that this device is, to the best of our knowledge, not artificially manufactured but made from years of use and later, neglect.’

Ahead of the show, Balenciaga creative director Demna Gvasalia said that the show served as a tribute to the embattled country of Ukraine.

Demna and his team were dressed in the Ukranian colors of yellow and blue.
