Kim Kardashian Confirmed That There Isn't Another Ray J Sex Tape

Yesterday, during an interview for Hollywood Unlocked With Jason Lee, rapper and sometimes-provocateur Kanye West claimed that he got his hands on a laptop that featured more footage of Kim Kardashian and her ex, Ray J, from 2003. Just before E! premiered Keeping Up With the Kardashians in 2007, Kardashian's sex tape leaked, thrusting her into the spotlight and sowing the seeds for her position at the top of the reality television hierarchy. Though West insisted that there was additional footage of Kim and Ray J on the clandestine laptop, a statement from Kardashian's team to Entertainment Tonight confirmed that there was nothing sexual in nature on it.

"After review, there was nothing sexual unseen, only footage on the plane on the way to Mexico and footage at a club and restaurant on the same trip," a representative for Kardashian told ET. "Kim remains firm in her belief that there is no new second tape that exists. After 20 years, she truly wishes to move on from this chapter with focus instead on the positive things she continues to do as a mother, entrepreneur, and advocate for justice form."

West explained to Lee that he went to great lengths to get the laptop and make sure that nobody else had access to it — all of which happened around the time that Kim hosted Saturday Night Live.

"How you gonna bring me to SNL and kiss the dude you're dating right in front of me? And everybody's like, 'Oh that's cool,'" West says. "After I went and got the laptop from Ray J myself that night, right, and then got on a red-eye. I met this man at the airport, and got on a red-eye, came back and delivered it to her at 8 a.m. in the morning."

West went on to say that Kardashian watched the footage and had a visceral reaction, though her statement to ET doesn't mention any of those details.

"And then, I gave it to her and she cried when she saw it," West said. "You know why she cried when she saw the laptop? 'Cause it represents how much she's been used. It represents how much people didn't love her and they just saw her as a commodity."

Kim addressed the tape back in 2018 with CNN's Van Jones, saying that when she and West started dating, people warned him not to get involved with her because it would "ruin" his career.

"We've been through a lot together. You know, I've known him for 15 years now. Became friends with him maybe in, like, 2006, 2007. Met him in, like, [2002 or 2003]. I've known him forever," she said. "He's put himself up against the world for me when everyone told him, 'You cannot date a girl with a sex tape. You cannot date a reality-show girl. This is going to ruin your career. Everyone told him that.'"
