Khloe Kardashian and True go to the fire station to donate gifts

Khloe Kardashian urges people to be kind as she takes daughter True to the local fire station to donate gifts: ‘There are so many ways we can give back’

Khloe Kardashian is teaching daughter True Thompson about giving back.

The reality star, 36, wrote about the importance of kindness as she shared videos of her and her two-year-old daughter donating toys to their local fire station.

In the clips a dressed down Khloe led her little girl, who was weighed down with bags of gifts, to the station.

Another video showed True, dressed in a darling plaid dress and boots, dropping the presents off in the donation bin.

The videos were accompanied by a heavily filtered photo of Khloe and her girl posing in front of a fire truck.

In her lengthy caption, the Good American co-founder explained why giving back means more for people this year.

‘While I was watching the news, I came across a story that mentioned toy donations are down more than 50% this year,’ Khloe wrote.

‘Of course this year has been incredibly tragic for so many people. This year so many people, understandably so, aren’t able to give back in the ways they used to. But there are so many other ways we can give back.’

‘Being kind to one another seems so simple but in these dark times we need kindness and compassion more than ever,’ she explained. ‘Calling isolated lonely friends and family. Checking in on one another’s morale to remind people that they are loved and not alone.

Good fortune: Khloe went on to say how ‘fortunate’ she is to be able to donate to her local fire station, which she said ‘will be distributing toys to children and teenagers in need of holiday cheer this year’

‘Writing letters to children or elderly in the hospital… Sometimes we forget about the simple things that can completely change someone’s mood, and make their day.

Khloe went on to say how ‘fortunate’ she is to be able to donate to her local fire station, which she said ‘will be distributing toys to children and teenagers in need of holiday cheer this year.’

Kardashian explained why she wanted to set this example for young daughter True, writing: ‘I know True is young but I think it is important for her to understand how blessed and fortunate she is. It’s so important for her to see how we give back to others, ESPECIALLY in such unprecedented times. Children learn with action and consistency. This is just the first of many trips we are making.’

Then, Khloe opened up a bit about her charitable contributions, something she tends to keep private.

‘I don’t talk about charity often because I truly believe that acts of kindness can be done in private or in silence,’ she said. ‘To me, boasting about charity never feels like it’s coming from the right place. The only reason I’m posting this is because I’ve gotten so many messages and comments asking where to donate, or how you can help. Many feel helpless because they aren’t in the position to contribute financially.

Out-of-touch: The Kardashian/Jenner family have been in hot water for flouting rules throughout the pandemic. In October, they were lambasted when Kim Kardashian said she hosted 40 person birthday vacation to a private island to ‘pretend things were normal just for a brief moment in time’

Again, Khloe stressed the importance of small acts of kindness, telling readers: ‘I wanted everyone to know there are more, and in some cases, bigger ways to contribute with just small acts of kindness. Even a wave from afar. True waved to a fireman today with so much happiness and pride, and watching him smile back told me everything I needed to know and more.’

She signed off by urging others to donate by checking in with local resources like ‘Fire stations, grocery stores, churches’ adding ‘There are tons of small businesses you can help, or even a stranger down the street.’

Khloe’s charitable outing comes after a tense year for the famous family, who have been criticized for being out-of-touch on numerous occasions since the pandemic took hold in March.

Later that month, the family faced criticism again after Kendall Jenner held a reportedly 100-person Halloween soiree in celebration of her 25th birthday. They defended the party, insisting everyone was tested before attending.
