Kerry Katona slams OnlyFans over proposed porn ban

‘This is my body and I will make money from it’: Kerry Katona slams OnlyFans’ proposed porn ban as she brands the move ‘awful’

Kerry Katona has slammed OnlyFans over its proposed porn ban, calling the decision ‘awful’ and insisting: ‘This is my body and I will make money from it.’

Earlier in August the X-rated site announced it would be banning all ‘sexually explicit’ content as of October 1, however CEO Tim Stokely announced less than a week later that the ban was being ‘suspended’.

In July, Kerry, 40, revealed she has managed to earn £1million since being declared bankrupt in 2008 thanks to OnlyFans.

Taking control of the narrative: Kerry Katona, 40, has slammed OnlyFans over its proposed porn ban, insisting: ‘This is my body and I will make money from it’

Writing in her latest OK! column, the star explained: ‘I think it was awful to consider banning it in the first place, particularly for those ladies who have given up their jobs to put everything into this.

‘People should be allowed to do what they want with their bodies.’

She added: ‘Since I was 17, people have taken advantage of my body. If ever I was on the beach topless, my body was written about, but this is my body and I will make money from it and I will do what I want to do.’

OnlyFans announced the U-turn in a statement on its Twitter page this month, although it did not clarify whether the ban is permanent or temporary.

Big bucks: In July Kerry, 40, revealed she has managed to earn £1million since being declared bankrupt in 2008 thanks to OnlyFans

It said: ‘Thank you to everyone for making your voices heard. We have secured assurances necessary to support our diverse creator community and have suspended the planned October 1 policy change.

‘OnlyFans stands for inclusion and we will continue to provide a home for all creators.’

Initially, the company said the move was being introduced due to pressure from financial partners, leading some to assume payment processors Mastercard and Visa were behind it.

The company said in a message to users: ‘The new rules are necessary to comply with the requirements of these financial institutions and are the only way to help ensure the long-term.’

It comes after Kerry was left fuming after an explosive row with Tessa Hartmann about padded bikinis for girls as young as nine.

The former Atomic Kitten star declared that she was ‘gobsmacked’ and thought swimwear which ‘sexualised children’ was like ‘dangling a carrot in front of a paedophile’ during the heated chat on Good Morning Britain last month.

Tallia Storm’s mother Tessa Hartmann, 51, also engaged in the debate, which soon descended into chaos, saying the bikinis provide some ‘modesty’ before taking aim at Kerry’s OnlyFans page and claiming the singer’s ‘kids take pictures of her naked’.

Speaking about the swimwear, Kerry said: ‘I’m really gobsmacked I expect to see my nine-year-old in a two-piece with Frozen or maybe Trolls, putting them in a padded bikini means they’re going to be concerned about their body…

‘Children need to be children and that’s it, are we going to get padded shorts for little boys now are we? The world’s gone mad.’

However Real Housewives Of Jersey star Tessa then tried to argue that she thinks girls would ‘love’ the items and ‘prefer’ padded bikinis as it provides some modesty.

The radio host said: ‘Well look, first of all I have worked in fashion for 25 years and there’s a lot of sexualising of children before, but this isn’t padding it’s just foam…

‘For me, my girls [her two daughters Tessie and Tallia] would love this… this is a take on a very big Australian brand… children prefer this to hide this modesty… a nine-year-old is more on trend than a 15-year-old.’

The conversation then turned to whether the bikinis ‘sexualise’ children, with presenters Richard Madeley and Susanna Reid both agreeing that they do.

Mother-of-five Kerry replied, saying: ‘100 per cent, 100 percent.’

Tessa then brought OnlyFans into the debate, adding: ‘There are a lot of things out there that sexualises children, social media sites like OnlyFans, with a young girl who’s jumping in a pool is self-conscious then this will show of modesty…

‘I think this is a good thing for a body conscious young teenage girl, and the whole point of it is choice. If you don’t want to buy it, don’t buy it… you have a choice.

Hot topic: Real Housewives Of JerseyTessa , 51, said the bikini’s provide some ‘modesty’ before taking aim at Kerry’s OnlyFans page and claiming the singer’s ‘kids take pictures of her naked’

With furious Kerry jumping in to say: ‘First of all, OnlyFans is over 18, no one is putting that to a nine-year-old child.

‘Second of all, when I’m on holiday with my nine-year-old with strangers, I’m not going to have my children in a padded bikini top sexualising her… it’s like dangling a carrot in front of a paedophile.’

Tessa then said: ‘Your kids take pictures of you naked…’

Kerry hit back: ‘First of all my children do not take pictures naked, my children take pictures of me in a bikini, I don’t know what you’ve heard but you’re wrong….

‘Why would a nine year old child be googling topless pictures in the first place? What I do on an 18+ site is different.’

High street shop New Look has come under fire by British mothers for ‘sexualising children’ by selling the range of padded bikinis in recent days.

Chaos: As the row continued, the two stars talked over each other with Kerry (right) saying that the swimwear ‘sexualised children’ and was like ‘dangling a carrot in front of a paedophile’
