America is divided and in shambles right now, and that’s a massive understatement. Following the murder of George Floyd—as well as the wrongful killings of other innocent Black people, like Ahmaud Arbery, Breonna Taylor, and Brianna Hill—protests have taken the country by storm in the past week, and has left celebrities voicing their opinions and sharing about the current state of events. Lana Del Rey is no exception.
On Instagram, Lana posted two videos—one of a Black man standing on the top of a burning car holding up a sign that reads “NO JUSTICE NO PEACE,” another of a group of people looting a stores and escaping with merchandise. After posting the second video, Kehlani hopped on Twitter and asked Lana to take the video down.
“@LanaDelRey please remove your instagram post it’s dangerous as f*ck and a very poor choice of moments to post. by all means protest, but DO NOT endanger people with your very massive platform. oh and turn your f*ckin comments on man,” Kehlani wrote, adding that her choosing to call Lana out is “about furthering endangering the lives of black people. it’s about responsibility.”
Tinashe also chimed in and asked Lana to take down the Instagram posts. “@LanaDelRey why the f*ck are you posting people looting stores on your page literally WHAT IS YOUR PROBLEM,” she wrote.

Tinashe later thanked Lana for removing the post.
@LanaDelRey thank you for removing your post!!!!!!!!!!!
Kehlani, on the other hand, simply deleted the tweet after Lana took the looting video down. Now on to more pressing issues.
