Justin Theroux Once Turned Down a Big Role on ‘Lost’

Justin Theroux leads his dog Kuma on a walk around their neighborhood in New York City on Friday (April 16).

The 49-year-old actor covered up in a light jacket as the cooler weather rolled in for the day.

After their short walk outside, Justin and Kuma headed back inside to their apartment for the day.

In a recent interview, Damon Lindelof, who was a screenwriter on Lost, revealed that Justin was offered one of the lead roles on the series, but he turned it down.

He told Esquire magazine that he had written Justin‘s name next to the character of Jack Shepard, which ultimately went to Matthew Fox.

“Justin looking and sounding the way that he does, instantly the town decides, ‘We’re going to groom this guy to be the star of a Marvel movie,’” Damon shared. “There’s a reason that you look at his filmography and there aren’t 25 movies and TV shows that he’s worked on. It isn’t for a lack of opportunity. It’s because he’s very selective about what he chooses to do. When we were casting ‘Lost,’ he was definitely on the Jack list. He wasn’t interested.”

Earlier this week, Justin confirmed a big rumor about his relationship with ex-wife, Jennifer Aniston.
