Jesy Nelson 'delays debut single so P Diddy can appear in music video'

‘It will be worth the wait’: Jesy Nelson ‘delays the release of her debut single Boyz after P Diddy says he wants to appear in her music video’

Jesy Nelson has reportedly delayed her debut single by a couple of weeks so P Diddy can feature in her music video.

The 30-year-old singer’s upcoming chart-topper Boyz will sample the hip-hop veteran’s hit Bad Boy For Life, and now the 51-year-old wants to be in its promo, according to The Sun.

‘Boyz has been pushed back by a couple of weeks due to unforeseen circumstances but it now means that P Diddy himself will make a cameo in the clip, which is incredible for Jesy,’ an insider said.

‘Jesy is determined for everything to be perfect and won’t cut corners when it comes to the release.

‘The delay is not ideal as they had already started teasing the track on her socials, but Jesy and the team are making things work. Jesy is making the final touches to the video and it will be worth the wait.’

The source added the songstress is still planning to drop her new track next month, but after Ed Sheeran releases his next single as it will be a tough battle against him in the charts.

MailOnline has contacted Jesy’s representatives for comment.

On what fans can expect from her solo tunes, Jesy – who is signed to Polydor – said recently: ‘This is the music that I’ve always wanted to make. I don’t think that anyone’s gonna expect this. This is the new chapter for me.’

The former X Factor winner was believed to be heading into a chart battle with Little Mix, as the now-trio are releasing new music on their upcoming album, ‘Between Us’.

However, it isn’t due out until November, though the five new tracks on the greatest hits collection could arrive sooner.

Jesy won The X Factor alongside Perrie Edwards, Leigh-Anne Pinnock and Jade Thirwall in 2011.

Together Little Mix sold over 60 million records, making them one of the biggest girl bands of all time.

New music incoming: After leaving Little Mix, Jesy accepted a solo record deal with Polydor Records and her debut single Boyz will be released in early September

The Romford-born beauty confirmed her permanent departure from the band last December, just weeks after revealing she was taking a temporary hiatus from all work commitments.

At the time, she wrote on Instagram: ‘The truth is recently being in the band has really taken a toll on my mental health.

‘I find the constant pressure of being in a girl group and living up to expectations very hard.

‘There comes a time in life when we need to reinvest in taking core of ourselves rather than focusing on making other people happy, and I feel like now is the time to begin that process.’
