Glam! Jessica Alba says she gives ‘zero f**ks’ about what other people think as she has learned to embrace her body in new InStyle Magazine interview, on sale August 16th

The stars spoke with the mag’s Editor in Chief Laura Brown about a variety of topics and in her piece, Alba got candid about feeling like she’d been objectified through the male gaze in her teens and twenties.

‘I felt like I needed to be someone I wasn’t in order to be accepted,’ Alba said of her youth. ‘I allowed other people’s ideas of who they thought I should be to define me.’

The business mogul said she’s embraced a whole new outlook on herself since growing older and having children.

‘Who am I now? I give zero f**ks. I have three children. They’ve exploded my body, and I’m cool with it. [laughs]’

Adding: ‘And I know I’m smart. I don’t care what everybody else thinks. I’m good, girl. I’m good.’

Reflecting on her second cover for the magazine, Jessica said she had turned a corner with her self image.

‘For the first time in my life I was really embracing my womanhood,’ she said. ‘I was in my early 30s, and it had taken up until then for me to feel confident in my body.’

At that point, the actress had married producer Cash Warren and given birth two her two eldest children, daughters Honor and Haven.

She continued: ‘I also stopped allowing myself to be objectified in the press through a male’s perspective.

‘Screw that, man. It’s OK to be sexy. It’s OK to wear a short skirt or a loud print if I feel like it because I own it in my own way.

‘I can flaunt what I want, cover what I want, and still feel good.’

She joked that when she landed her first InStyle cover at 26, she felt like she had finally ‘made it.’

Into her late thirties, Alba has become even more confident and secure in her own sense of self.

She even eschewed her former tendency to diet and exercise before a big event ahead of this most recent magazine shoot.

‘If I had been younger, I probably would have been obsessed with dieting and exercising, but instead I thought, “This is where I’m at. This is my life. And this is my body.”‘

Family time: Since becoming a parent to her three children, Honor, Haven and Hayes with husband Cash Warren, the star has come into her own when it comes to her self image

Since beginning her acting and modeling career as a teen, Alba has since taken a step in a different direction as the founder of the ultra popular Honest Company.

And, recently the star had re-entered the acting world with her buddy cop series L.A.’s Finest opposite Gabrielle Union which has recently been renewed for a second season.
