Janel Parrish’s wedding to Chris Long was a bittersweet affair.

Taking to Instagram on Saturday, the “Pretty Little Liars” alum revealed her father-in-law was killed in a drunk driving accident two weeks before the big day.

“A few weeks ago, we got the awful news that my now father in law was tragically killed by a drunk driver on his beloved Sunday motorcycle ride,” the actress posted. “Words can’t explain the feeling of losing someone to something so senseless… something that could have been prevented.”

Parrish, 29, also posted a linked to a Mothers Against Drunk Driving donation page in her profile, which stated Herbert “Buck” Long was “killed instantly” on the morning of Sunday, August 26, after “an 18 year old intoxicated driver ran into him head on.”

The driver is said to have fled the scene, “but was later found by police hiding in a nearby ravine.” Long was 74 years old.

“If you’re moved by his story, help donate to MADD to help made sure this doesn’t happen to anyone else,” Parrish wrote. “Love you Buck.”

Parrish and Long tied the knot in Hawaii on Sept. 8.

“It’s not possible to love you more than I do,” Parrish gushed of her new husband.

The couple announced their engagement in October 2017.
