Former model Leilani Dowding has addressed Meghan Markle and Prince Harry’s decision to discuss the Royal Family, airing bombshell claims. Meghan, 39, shocked the world when she claimed a member of The Firm raised concerns over the tone of son Archie Harrison’s skin tone.

I just think it’s so millennial-like, it’s so unroyal, it’s not classy.

Now, Leilani, 41, has shared her thoughts on the Sussexes plans since their controversial decision to step down as senior members of the Mountbatten-Windsor family.

Meghan and Harry have followed in the footsteps of the latter’s great uncle, King Edward VIII, who abdicated the throne in December 1936, to marry the American divorcee, Wallis Simpson.

Edward and twice-divorced Wallis resided in France, often sharing details about their life through a string of interviews, similar to Harry and Meghan who now live in Montecito, California, with their two children.

The couple have participated in several televised interviews, attacking the monarchy as well as the family.

However, these decisions have angered former reality star Leilani, who claims it’s “unroyal”.

In an exclusive interview with Express.co.uk, the model said: “I just think it’s so millennial-like, it’s so unroyal, it’s not classy, you don’t go and slate your family or someone’s family, publicly.

“I just think there’s zero class and if she had any class she would deal with her family matters, as family matters.”

Since marrying into The Firm, Meghan has cut contact with her family, besides her mother, Doria Ragland.

Her father, Thomas Markle, was absent from her wedding to Harry after photographs emerged of him trying on his wedding suit.

Days later, the former film lighting expert revealed he had suffered a heart attack, while Meghan’s sister, Samantha Markle, is said to have had no relationship with the Duchess for over a decade — a claim Samantha disputes.

Leilani added: “You don’t have to bear all. I feel like they’re both trying to come across as the poor common person and [their claims] ‘We’ve been cut off, we have these struggles’ – I feel like she’s trying to emulate Diana, who was the People’s Princess.

“But Diana was a humble person and people naturally gravitated to her. Well, this whole fake pretence of wisdom, like, ‘We have problems too, we got cut off,’ I think it’s so fake and so phoney, so it just makes it seem like it’s this reality show that’s not what being a royal or any kind of an aristocrat is, is it?”

Prince Harry sensationally claimed that he was “cut off financially” in the first quarter of 2020 by his father, Prince Charles.

However, official documents released by Clarence House show that Harry and Meghan received a “substantial sum” from the Prince of Wales.

Leilani went on to suggest that Meghan and Harry have fallen to the “Jersey Shore” standard.

Discussing their decisions to speak publicly, she said: “It’s like the Kardashians… why don’t you just get to like Jersey Shore level at this point and just air everything. It’s all just fake.”

“I could absolutely see them in the rounds, I think that’s what they want — I’ve always said I think that that’s what they want… She’s almost like a wannabe of the Kardashians,” claimed Leilani.

She continued: “She wants the glamour [of] going out to the red carpet events wearing the nice dresses.

“I think she doesn’t want to do the royal thing and be of service to other people.”
