I’m A Celebrity’s Babatúndé Aléshé is greeted by campmates and loved ones after being eliminated from the show

Babatúndé Aléshé had a heroes welcome on Thursday as he arrived at the luxury Marriott hotel after being eliminated from I’m A Celebrity.

The comedian, 36, was welcomed home by his former campmates Charlene White, Scarlette Douglas, and Sue Cleaver, as well as the likes of Matt Hancock’s girlfriend Gina Coladangelo, who embraced him with a hug.

One star not present, however, was Boy George, 61, the fourth contestant to be voted off on Tuesday,  making him the only former campmate not to greet his co-star at the luxury Marriott hotel.

Welcome: Babatúndé Aléshé had a heroes welcome on Thursday as he arrived at the luxury Marriott hotel after being eliminated from I’m A Celebrity

An onlooker told MailOnline: ‘George was the only celebrity not to greet Baba after he was voted out the jungle on Thursday morning, local time.

‘It was disappointing because he’s still a part of the cast and was a huge character in camp, it didn’t go unnoticed that he wasn’t there.

‘Everyone else is able to be a good sport but he just seems to have washed his hands with it now.’

A source close to George added: ‘He was busy filming social media content for the show that they require and was following their schedule.

‘He was then rushed into makeup ahead of doing an interview, he didn’t purposefully miss Baba’s return.’

Baba lasted a day longer in camp than George and was the fifth celebrity to be voted out, admitting to hosts Ant and Dec that he’s ‘more scared’ of toads than he was before going into the jungle.

He said: ‘You guys just sprang that on me. You guys didn’t need to do that. I thought that if I made it far, I would actually have to lie in a box of a bunch of toads.

‘When they came in, I thought these guys are evil, this is not even funny. I don’t like the way they look. They look like they were birthed in the pit of hell… they are demons.’

George’s snub comes after the Eighties singer refused to do press following his exit and did not appear on ITV’s morning shows to talk about his jungle experience.

On Wednesday, MailOnline revealed that George was ‘desperate’ to go home but is contractually obliged to stay in Australia until after the ITV series has ended.

Embrace: He was also welcomed by Matt Hancock’s girlfriend Gina Coladangelo, who embraced him with a hug

A source revealed that in contrast to his evicted co-stars, George does not feel obliged to continue supporting his campmates, having previously admitted to pals that he wasn’t signing up for the show to make friends.

During his time in the jungle, he accused his campmates of not ‘being themselves’ but when quizzed by Ant and Dec about who he was referring to, he refused to comment.

A show insider added: ‘George has travelled across the world his entire career and has seen Australia before so there’s really no reason for him to be here, especially as he isn’t concerned with catching up with his co-stars on the other side.’
