Homes Under The Hammer host Martin Roberts suffers lockdown chaos ‘Disaster’

Martin Roberts, 56, recently launched his self-titled “Property Titbits” on YouTube. The Homes Under The Hammer favourite gave viewers a behind the scenes look into his DIY work while in lockdown.

Taking to Twitter, the BBC presenter shared a clip where his face was covered in debris after carrying out some work.

But Martin admitted it ended in chaos, as the small-screen suffered a major blunder.

In view of his 24,000 followers and covered in plaster, he said: “Erm… yes I guess you could call this a bit of a DIY disaster.”

Martin later detailed exactly what happened and why he was completely covered in paint.

“Welcome to my new property Titbits playlist DIY disasters,” he said. “I think I’ve certainly had one.”

Martin continued: “What was I doing? Well, I decided that I needed to get some really horrible paint off these exterior walls.”

As he panned the camera around the property, he revealed he had a disaster with the pressure washer.

Martin explained: “I decided the easiest way to do it, was to use one of them. A pressure washer.”

“I didn’t expect it to be quite this much fallout, specifically on me.” as the Homes Under The Hammer star was covered in paint residue.

His alter ego Wise Alek warned him in the clip that he should have worn protective clothing.

Martin finished: “It’s easy to be wise after the event.”

Fans flocked to comment on the clip, as many found his disaster hilarious.

One person tweeted: “Still laughing at the clip. Watched it several times now.”

Martin replied: “Good to hear.”

Another person commented: “You make my day Martin.”

While a third person quipped: “That is some serious dandruff.”

Martin is no stranger to renovating homes and has become a household name over the past 17 years, having given his expert opinion on BBC hit series, Homes Under The Hammer, since 2003.

The small-screen star regularly provides tips and tricks for aspiring property developers.

As well as offering advice on all things to do with property and DIY, and hosting a TV show, Martin is also an author of children’s books.

Homes Under The Hammer airs today on BBC One at 10.45am.
