Speaking out: Amy Tapper discussed her staggering three stone weight loss on Friday’s episode of Lorraine
The Celebs Go Dating star told host Lorraine Kelly that she has been losing weight sensibly and slowly, she said: ‘The slower the better.
‘There’s lots of things out there that are quick fixes but as soon as you come off it, you put the weight straight back on. And I want it to be a long term thing.’
Amy revealed that she feels better than ever with her energy levels improving, she continued: ‘I feel a lot better. My energy levels are so much higher. I can do a lot more things… Yeah, I feel so much better.
‘Unfortunately, it’s taken me a lot of years to learn, but I’m lucky I was young when I found it out. So it’s exercise… a lifestyle change. The gym has been the best thing for me mentally. The stress. You don’t realise it.’
She added: ‘So as soon as I came back, I just started this diet. Honestly, if I hadn’t of gone to the gym, I don’t know where I would be mentally.’

She added: ‘Over the Christmas period I didn’t go to the gym. It wasn’t until I stopped that I realised I needed to go back. I’ve still got a long way to go.’
Amy went on to emotionally reveal that she used to care what people thought about her after she was trolled with ‘horrible’ comments during her time on Gogglebox.
Yet the starlet has learnt to switch off and has taught herself to not search for negative remarks on social media.
She said: ‘When I was younger… I was 13 when I started filming Gogglebox, I cared a lot about what people thought. I used to look up my name on Twitter, but what I found is no-one tagged you.

‘So unless they tagged my name in, I wasn’t going to see it. They [the trolls] used to say horrible things. As I got older, I realised they don’t actually know me. And they don’t know what I do behind closed doors.
‘It annoys me because they think, “She sits there on the couch, watching telly and eating crisps.” When in reality, it’s just not how I live my life.’
Amy also took to Instagram before the interview to share a progress update, sharing a before and current picture, she penned: ‘Another progress pic for you guys! Up until recently I never would’ve felt comfortable wearing an outfit like this.
‘But after having lost 3 stone I feel so much better! I really can’t believe how far I’ve come and this is only just the beginning…

‘I’ve achieved this with the help of @dotheunthinkableuk and following their amazing plan which gave me everything I needed each week to help me reach my goal.’

It comes after Amy took to Instagram in December to show off her slimmer figure after shedding a staggering three stone in just 12 weeks.

After seeing her dad’s three stone weight loss, Amy decided to follow the same Do The Unthinkable diet and fitness programme – and with great results.
Sharing a before and after photo on Instagram, Amy wrote: ‘3 stone lighter, 3 dress sizes down and feelin’ hellla good! This is what I achieved in 12 weeks with the help of @dotheunthinkableuk.
‘I genuinely can’t believe I did this while still eating foods I still love.’
To achieve her weight loss, Amy ate six times a day and went to the gym four times a week.
She swapped scrambled eggs and homemade dinners, for smaller, more frequent low-calorie meals and snacks.
The star added her weight crept up during her gap year in Israel but has found a new love for healthy food and fitness.

Amy’s dad Jonathan dropped three stone back in March from 21st 3lbs to a much trimmer 18st 8lbs.
He changed his calorie count from more than 3,000 to just 1,800, swapping crisps and full English breakfasts with protein rich chicken lunches.
Previously speaking of his weight loss, he said: ‘Filming for Gogglebox could take up to 12 hours a week and that was 12 hours that I was paid to sit around without moving.’
Amy first joined Gogglebox for its first series alongside mum Nikki, dad Jonathan and her brother Josh in 2013.

She remained a regular fixture and was cruelly taunted over her weight.
The television personality quit the show in October of last year to star in Celebs Go Dating, admitting she had never been on a date before.
The experience was a positive one and Amy previously told Holly Willoughby and Philip Schofield on This Morning: ‘When I started Gogglebox I was 13 so I’ve grown up on the show, so I thought it’s time to settle down and find someone.
‘[I just want] someone to have fun with, I’m only young I just want fun someone to have a laugh with, go out, club.’
Amy also admitted that she had no prior dating experience before signing up for the E4 show, adding she’s even surprised herself on how much the show has boosted her confidence.
‘I learned that I’m actually quite decent at dating, I think I’ve done alright, obviously previous to think I’d never been on a date before,’ she said.
‘I was really nervous but I had people around me and I knew wasn’t going on a date with some random person, I knew that I was in safe hands.
‘I figured out that I’m better at it then I thought I learned things about yourself, you’re actually doing something right and they can actually accept you.’
