Emmerdale is 'in crisis NINE stars leave soap'

Emmerdale in ‘crisis after Andrew Scarborough becomes the NINTH star to leave the show this year’… as soap faces scrutiny from viewers due to major plot holes

Emmerdale is said to be in ‘crisis’ after Andrew Scarborough has reportedly become the ninth star to leave the show this year.

Andrew, 45, who has played Graham Foster for two years, will reportedly depart from the village amid a dramatic storyline which will involve his ongoing feud with ex-lover and businesswoman Kim Tate.

It comes as the soap has become the subject of scrutiny from eagle-eyed viewers who have spotted a host of huge plot holes in some of the show’s biggest storylines.

Mass exit: Emmerdale is said to be in ‘crisis’ after Andrew Scarborough (Graham Foster) has reportedly become the ninth star to leave the show this year

Andrew joins Robert Sugden (Ryan Hawley), Faith Dingle (Sally Dexter), Megan Macey (Gaynor Faye), Frank Clayton (Michael Praed), Bernice Blackstock (Samantha Giles), Jessie Grant (Sandra Marvin), Pete Barton (Antony Quinlan) and Ellis Chapman (Asan N’ji), who have all announced their departures from the soap.

A source told The Sun: ‘It’s really tough behind the scenes, morale is low and no-one seems to be aware of what’s going on.

‘Fans are noticing and it’s really disheartening to everyone who works so hard on the show. There’s a real feeling that something drastic has to happen to save the show.’

The source added producers – Jane Hudson, Kate Brooks and Laura Shaw – have caused confusion behind the scenes as they have taken different storylines each.

Goodbye: Gaynor Faye (Megan Macey ) decided to move away following Frank Clayton’s funeral after seven years

Departures: Ryan Hawley (Robert Sugden) (L) and Anthony Quinlan (Pete Barton) (R) have also left Emmerdale

An Emmerdale spokesperson told MailOnline: ‘Departures are meat and drink to any soap. Without them there wouldn’t be any drama.

‘And on Emmerdale there’s certainly tons of drama, all of it on screen! Storylines are gripping, ratings are great and we’re winning award after award. Long may it continue.’

Last month, viewers were left stunned this week when farmhand Nate Robinson revealed that he was Cain Dingle’s secret son.

However, fans spotted a major plot hole as Faith had walked out on Cain and Chasity when they were both kids, having no contact since.

A flashback episode in 2017 confirmed that Faith left when they were young, so couldn’t have been around when Cain, who is around 45 years old, got Cara pregnant 20 years ago.

In crisis: Samantha Giles (Bernice Blackstock) (L) and Sally Dexter (Faith Dingle) (R) have said goodbye

Taking to Twitter, fans were quick to call out the error as they speculated that Faith can’t have been around when Nate was born.

In another storyline, fans were unconvinced by Moira Dingle’s great escape from the lake as they questioned how she survived underwater for 15 minutes on-screen.

Viewers quickly noted the on-screen blunder after Moira was accidentally knocked into the water, as husband Cain discovered her steamy affair with farmhand Nate Robinson.
