Emma Bunton brands son Beau ‘gorgeous’ in very rare snap as he turns 16

Spice Girls singer Emma Bunton is a bit of a closed book when it comes to her personal life but she's recently given fans a rare glimpse into a special celebration.

The singer, who shares two children – 16-year-old Beau and Tate, 12 – with husband Jade Jones, recently took to Instagram to mark her eldest son's milestone birthday.

Making an exception to her privacy rule and surprising fans, Emma said she was so proud as Beau turned 16 and included a picture of him holding large birthday balloons that read his age.

She captioned the photo: "My gorgeous boy is 16! We are bursting with pride @beaubuntonjones at the man you have become. Loving, king and the light in our family.

"We love you so much," she wrote followed by a red heart emoji.

However, the 47-year-old was deliberate in the positioning of the photograph as she's opted in the past not to share her children's faces in a bid to keep them off social media.

This isn't the only time that Emma has shocked fans recently as she also delighted them with a surprise reunion with Melanie C.

The pair took to the stage to perform 2 Become 1 at The Grand Prix Ball after Melanie, 49, was scheduled to perform alone. However, the audience was in for a treat when Sporty Spice brought Baby Spice up on stage.

As they sang along to the popular song and smiled together, the friends looked closer than ever.

Emma donned a stylish capped green maxi dress, while Mel wore a pair black tracksuit bottoms, paired with some white trainers and a black crop top.

This appearance obviously added fuel to the rumours that the Spice Girls may be reuniting for Glastonbury next year.

After Melanie C performed solo at the festival this year, she asked by BBC Radio 6's Matt Everitt on BBC Radio 6 whether the Spice Girls would perform together.

She replied: "Like I said to the audience, doing a couple of Spice Girls songs, 'a bit of a warm-up for next year?'

"They're rehearsed, they know the words, they're ready. So, if I can drag the other girls along… I say 'drag' the other girls along – all of the Spice Girls would like to play Glasto, that is the truth."
