Josh Duggar’s trial made Duggar news at the end of 2021, but it’s John David Duggar and Abbie Duggar who are making headlines now. At the end of 2021, rumors suggested the two got into a plane crash, though they never talked about what occurred. Now, they’re breaking their silence. Here’s what the Duggar family couple had to say about the incident to the media — and what they’ve said so far about Josh Duggar’s guilty verdict.

Did John David and Abbie Duggar have a plane crash? What happened?

Duggar news at the end of 2021 suggested John David and Abbie Duggar were involved in a small plane crash. While the couple didn’t confirm or deny the rumors, they now acknowledge what occurred. Additionally, this seemed to have happened before Josh Duggar’s trial began, according to Us Weekly.

The publication reports John David was piloting the aircraft on Oct. 29, 2021. He had two other passengers on board — his wife and child. After a double-engine failure, he landed the plane in Waverly, Tennessee. Reports noted the plane, Piper PA-30, had “substantial” damage, but those aboard the flight were unharmed.

John David and Abbie are known for their love of aviation. They both have their pilot’s licenses, and they had their wedding reception inside of an airplane hangar. Jeremiah Duggar, Josiah Duggar, and Austin Forsyth are also licensed pilots, according to Monsters & Critics.

Duggar news: John David and Abbie Duggar broke their silence on their emergency landing

Duggar family followers wondering whether John David and Abbie Duggar got into a plane crash no longer have to wonder about the details. The latest Duggar news notes the couple broke their silence about the crash.

“An emergency landing or any kind of plane crash is a scary thing, but it’s exactly what pilots are trained for,” John David and Abbie told Celebuzz. “We are so thankful for God’s protection, as we all walked away without injuries when this happened last October. We so appreciate the love and care so many have expressed toward us!”

John David and Abbie don’t often talk to the media about anything going on with their family or the rest of the Duggars. Given the other slew of events that occurred around the time of the plane crash, like Josh Duggar’s trial, Jana Duggar’s child endangerment lawsuit, and additional potential lawsuits put forth by the Duggar sisters, the couple could’ve touched on other occurrences within the family. But they didn’t.

The couple hasn’t made any public comments on other Duggar news, like Josh Duggar’s trial

John David and Abbie Duggar remain silent on Josh Duggar’s trial and guilty verdict. Joy-Anna Duggar, Jill Duggar, and parents Jim Bob and Michelle Duggar posted to social media in response to the trial. But John David and Abbie chose to remain silent.

This shouldn’t come as too much of a surprise considering John David’s past response to Josh’s wrongdoings. During Josh’s scandals of the past, John David talked to TLC cameras about how he felt. “For me, making sure that I’m the man that I need to be, that I’m an example to those all around me … it’s a big load, it’s a big weight upon me now,” John David said in a clip posted on Reddit. ” … One of the toughest things I ever had to tell my older brother was, ‘I don’t want to be like you anymore.’”

It seems like John David and Abbie will continue to keep to themselves and post minimally to social media.
