Disney Is Developing a Live Action ‘Aristocats’ Movie!

Disney is reportedly looking to bring another animated movie to life!

The Mouse House will be turning the classic Aristocats into a live action feature, Deadline reveals.

The site shares that Peter Rabbit director Will Gluck and Onward writer Keith Bunin will be writing the script, with Will is also producing.

Aristocats was first released in 1970 and followed “a family of aristocratic cats — mother Duchess and her three kittens Berlioz, Marie and Toulouse — living a luxurious life in Paris. But when their owner’s butler finds out that the cats are set to receive a massive fortune, he kidnaps them and abandons them in an unfamiliar land — the country. The aristocats then must befriend an alley cat, named Thomas O’Malley, to help them get home before the butler steals what is rightfully theirs.”

Though not much else is known about the feature, it will reportedly look similar to the 2019 version of Lady and the Tramp.

Aristocats will be one of the next live action movie adaptations from Disney, following 2015′s Cinderella, The Lion King, Beauty and The Beast, Lady and the Tramp and the upcoming Pinocchio and Snow White. A live action Hercules is also in the works.
