Bronny James Suffered a Cardiac Arrest During a USC Workout

Bronny James, the eldest son of Los Angeles Lakers‘ superstar LeBron James, suffered a cardiac arrest during a USC practice this past Monday. It’s been reported that he was immediately taken to the intensive care unit by the USC medical staff, but is now out and in stable condition. “LeBron and Savannah wish to publicly send their deepest thanks and appreciation to the USC medical and athletic staff for their incredible work and dedication to the safety of their athletes,” the James family said in a statement.

James was ranked 20th in the 2023 ESPN 100 rankings and is the sixth-rated point guard in the class of 2023. He’s heading into his freshman year at USC and will look to play a key role in the Trojans’ backcourt for the 2023-2024 season. Bronny is also the first member of the James family to attend college.

This marks the second occasion in the last year that USC‘s medical staff has responded to a men’s basketball player suffering cardiac arrest. Last September, center Vince Iwuchukwu collapsed during an off-season team workout and was hospitalized for a few days. Thankfully, he later returned to the hardwood at full strength six months later.

This is a developing story so sit tight for any updates.
