Bond girl Nadja Regin dies at 87 after starring in two of the hit movies

Bond girl Nadja Regin has died at the age of 87.

The Serbian born actress starred in two James Bond films during her career From Russia with Love and Goldfinger.

Movie bosses paid tribute to Nadja with a statement on Twitter on Monday morning.

"We are very sorry to learn that Nadja Regin has passed away at the age of 87. Nadja appeared in two Bond films, FROM RUSSIA WITH LOVE and GOLDFINGER. Our thoughts are with her family and friends at this sad time."

Nadja also appeared in in several British TV programmes in the 1960s, including The Avengers, Danger Man and The Saint.

But she was best known for her role as the mistress of Kerim Bey in From Russia with Love, 1963.

Nadja also appeared as belly dancer Bonita in 1964's Goldfinger opposite Sean Connery.

In the pre-title sequence, Nadja seduces Bond while sitting in the bath before double-crossing him.

Nadja previously revealed that she'd been initially reluctant to take a role in the British spy films.

In the 1980s Nadja gave up acting altogether and embarked on a career in publishing and started her own company with her sister, specialising in philosophy of history and biography.

She later worked on her own novel, The Victims and the Fools, published under her full name Nadja Poderegin.
