Blake Lively and Ryan Reynolds have made a $1 million donation to the non profits Feeding America and Food Banks Canada.

The Deadpool star, 43, and the Gossip Girl actress, 32, announced their charitable move via Instagram Monday in separate posts.

‘Covid-19 has brutally impacted older adults and low income families,’ he wrote. ‘Blake and I are donating $1 million to be split between FEEDING AMERICA and FOOD BANKS CANADA. ‘If you can give, these orgs need our help.’

The 6 Underground leading man had wise words for his followers, injecting a bit of levity into the tough times with a nod to his playful feud with fellow actor and friend Hugh Jackman.

He wrote: ‘Take care of your bodies and hearts. Leave room for joy. Call someone who’s isolated and might need connection. (Hugh Jackman’s # is 1-555-HUGH.)’

Reynolds, a Vancouver, Canada native, captioned the shot: ‘I think we can all agree, Covid-19 is an a**hole. If you’re able to help, visit, @feedingamerica and @foodbankscanada.’

The Los Angeles native, who shares three kids with the actor – son James, five, daughter Inez, three, and a baby daughter whose name they have not revealed- followed suit with her own post on the social media site, with a serious message balanced with some lightheartedness.

Wise words: Blake encouraged her fans to check in on one another and quarantine amid the spread of the virus 

‘Covid-19 has brutally impacted older adults and low income families,’ she said. ‘If you can give, these orgs need our help.’

She encouraged her followers to keep in close touch with friends and loved ones via digital formats such as FaceTime and Skype, adding, ‘Remember the lonely and isolated.’

She noted the selfless acts going on amid the troubled times, saying, ‘We can all do something for one another, even if that’s simply staying home.’

She ended the post in saying, ‘Now can someone please tell Ryan that ’emotional distancing’ from his mother in law is not a thing. Nothing can save him.’ 

Feeding America’s Dan Nisbet later said in a statement to Variety: ‘We are so grateful for Ryan Reynolds and Blake Lively’s extremely generous donation, and for all of the donations we’ve been receiving.

‘The Feeding America network of 200 food banks is working tirelessly to aid and provide meal assistance to our most vulnerable neighbors – children, the elderly, families struggling with food insecurity and individuals facing job disruptions – throughout our nation during this unprecedented time. Generosity like theirs will make all the difference.’
