Pat McFadden grilled on David Lammy by Kay Burley
Kay Burley has received 1573 Ofcom complaints after it was alleged she misrepresented comments made by the Palestinian ambassador.
The complaints were made by viewers watching who claimed that Kay had misquoted the Palestinian Ambassador to the UK, Husam Zomlot, on three occasions.
She allegedly claimed that Mr Zomlot had said “the Israelis had it coming” but in his statement, he had said “the loss of civilian lives is tragic on all sides” and that “Israel knew this was coming their way.”
Viewers of the show were left fuming and took to their Twitter accounts to express their anger towards the presenter.
@staffy501 fumed: “Why don’t you you Google the quote, open the guardian article and there you go, a source.”

@AB1ackSheep noted: “Okay, I recommend you speak to your editors as they are now confirming that evidence exists that it was a Hamas/Islamic Jihad attack gone badly wrong.”
Accompanied by a clip of her conversation with the MP, @LiamMcKee said: “Yet more evidence that Kay Burley apparently does no research or preparation for her job.”
Tina McDonaldson added: “Sorry Kay but what you have just reported was not true? You have glanced over their words and made a brief statement which has a totally different meaning?”
@Lil_VixenVicky commented: “And Kay Burley calls herself a journalist yet it seems she has done zero research.”

Paul Meekings penned: “Does Kay Burley actually do any research before she opens her mouth on national TV?
“She clearly didn’t read the MP’s words correctly or listen to what they had to say so why go on TV and make something up which gives a whole different meaning to what was said?” (sic)
The head of the World Health Organization (WHO) Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus has said the situation in the Gaza Strip is spiralling out of control.
Writing on Twitter, they shared: “The situation in #Gaza is spiralling out of control. We need violence on all sides to stop. Every second we wait to get medical aid in, we lose lives. We need immediate access to start delivering life-saving supplies.” (sic)
Kay isn’t the only one who has landed themselves in hot water when commenting on the Israeli war, as Good Morning Britain presenter Richard Madeley recently had called to be sacked from his role.
On Tuesday, Richard and Susanna Reid were speaking to British Palestinian MP Layla, where he asked: “You have connections in Gaza. Did you have any indication of what was going to happen 10 days ago, two weeks ago. Was there any word on the street?”
Moran looked stunned at his question and noted: “Not his. I think everyone has been surprised by first of all, partly the timing, the sophistication and the the way that it’s happened.
“What I will say is that I have been warning and others have in Parliament as well for a number of years now. We have to bring people together and find a way through.”
Breakfast with Kay Burley airs weekdays from 7am on Sky News.
