Strictly Come Dancing returns to screens for a brand new season which kicks off on Friday this week. Amongst the 15 pairings set to take to the dance floor, in the hope of winning the Glitterball trophy, is Gemma Atkinson’s fiancé Gorka Marquez and a brand new dance partner.

For now, the identity of his partner is yet to be revealed publicly, however Gemma has already told her followers that she’s a fan of hers.

Taking to her Instagram Story, the mother-of-one said Gorka was off training as she showed fans a cute note he had left her.

She captioned the post: “Bless him. He’s gone dancing! His partner is wonderful and has already been SO kind to myself and Mia.

“Can’t wait for you to find out who it is on Friday!”

Pairings for this year’s Strictly will be unveiled at the launch show this week, which was delayed due to the Queen’s death.

On Saturday, the celebrities will take to the dance floor live for the first time.

Those in the running to win the Glitterball trophy are; Helen Skelton, James Bye, Molly Rainford, Will Mellor, Kym Marsh, Kaye Adams, Richie Anderson, Jayde Adams, Ellie Simmonds, Tyler West, Matt Goss, Ellie Taylor, Tony Adams MBE, Fleur East and Hamza Yassin.

Back on the judging panel are; Craig Revel Horwood, Motsi Mabuse, Shirley Ballas and Anton Du Beke.

Fans have been putting forward their predictions about who could be paired up on this year’s series.

Margaret Purcell wrote: “I put Gorka with Helen only coz they live up north and maybe easier to go training together.(sic)

“I feel sorry for the ones who are benched, they’ve all worked so hard x.”

Dinico went on to predict that Gorka could be given Fleur East as a dance partner.

TV Fan put forward the idea of the professional dancing with Ellie Simmonds.

Gorka has been a part of the Strictly family for six years.

On his journey so far, he told OK! Magazine: “People say, ‘Aren’t you bored after six years?’ but it’s like I’m seeing it through the celebrities’ eyes for the first time and that gives me motivation and inspiration to create new numbers.

“I get to know what they like and what they don’t like, their background and their profession.”

The Spanish dancer added: “The most important thing is making sure the celebrities have the best time.”

Last year, he took to the dance floor with ex Coronation Street star Katie McGlynn.

His other celebrity partners have been Alexandra Burke, Katie Piper, Tameka Epson and Maisie Smith.

Strictly Come Dancing returns to BBC One on Friday at 7pm.
