Strictly Come Dancing favourite Stacey Dooley's future on the show under threat after she suffers horrific injury in rehearsals

The Sun Online can reveal the documentary maker has torn an intercostal muscle behind a rib just days into practising for her next dance.

She is under strict instructions not to move for a couple of days, meaning she won't have long to rehearse for Saturday night's show.

Stacey's agent revealed: "It's very painful. She is strapped up and the doctor has said she should be able to move in a couple of days."

The 31-year-old will see a medic this morning for an update on her injury.

Last night Stacey posted a picture of a woman wearing a cast over her right breast, arm and collar on social media.

It was captioned: "Current sitch" alongside emojis including a bandaged head, face-palm and distraught face.

Stacey – who is going from strength to strength on the BBC show alongside pro dancer Kevin Clifton – made fans fear she had broken a bone.

One said: "Oh no, hope you’ve not broken anything."

Another added: "What happened and I hope you can still be on strictly."

Someone else said: "Noooooooooo…what happened?!"

For Halloween Week,  Stacey performed an incredible Doctor Who-themed Tango earning her an impressive 35 points.
