ARSENAL are still on the hunt for a defender with just days to go.

There's bad news on Flamengo's Pablo Mari, who has flown back to Brazil with the Gunners accused of changing the terms of the agreed deal at the last minute.

With Shkodran Mustafi suffering an injury against Bournemouth, Arsenal are now looking to complete a move for Ukrainian star Mykola Matviyenko.

But they won't be signing Thomas Lemar with Atletico Madrid insistent on keeping the Frenchman this month.

  • NOT AUBA TROUBLE

Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang's move to Barcelona could be back on after the Catalán giants ended their pursuit of Rodrigo.

The Valencia striker was their first-choice target this month as they look for cover for the injured Luis Suárez.

But Mundo Deportivo report that the deal to see the Spanish forward move north to Catalonia was off.

The transfer move looked to be heading for a conclusion, but Barcelona were put off by the fee Valencia wanted.

Now Barca will look to other alternatives, with Aubameyang heavily linked in recent weeks.

The report claims Ajax's ex-Southampton ace is also a target.

  • ATLETICO NO GO

Atletico Madrid will not let Thomas Lemar leave this month, despite interest from the Premier League.

Arsenal are among a host of clubs that have been linked with a move for the Frenchman – who has struggled since moving to Spain in 2018.

But the La Liga giants want him to stay, after the club's chief executive Gil Martin told Goal: “Lemar is not for sale. There is no way he can change.”

The 24-year-old has managed just ten starts in all competitions this season, leading to rumours of a move, with Chelsea and Man Utd also linked.

  • SLAM DUNK

Arsenal have been told to splash the cash on Lewis Dunk this month, as they continue to target a central defender before the transfer window closes.

The Gunners have been looking at budget options, having spent big in the summer.

But Ray Parlour feels they need to go all out and sign the Brighton man, who is expected to cost around £40m.

The former Arsenal midfielder told TalkSport: “If I really had to go and buy one, whether you've got the money to do it or not, I'd take a gamble on a player like Lewis Dunk.”

  • CAN-T BELIEVE IT

Juventus midfielder has reportedly turned down the likes of Arsenal, Man Utd and Spurs in favour of Borussia Dortmund.

According to Football Italia, the German ace has agree terms with the Bundesliga side in a deal worth £22million.

Can is free to leave Turin after Maurizio Sarri omitted him from his Champions League squad.

  • SOAR NOTE

Arsenal are reportedly eyeing up a shock move for Southampton right-back Cedric Soares.

According to the Mail, the Gunners are only prepared to pay £5million for the defender.

The rumour seems somewhat strange seeing as Hector Bellerin is now back to full fitness.
