Woman accused of abusing stepdaughter allegedly made her eat vomit

An Arizona woman accused of abusing her 11-year-old stepdaughter allegedly made her eat her own vomit, according to officials.

Erin Darr, of Maricopa, was arrested on suspicion of child abuse after her stepdaughter’s classmates reported seeing bruises on the girl, according to a Wednesday report from news station KSAZ.

The Department of Child Safety interviewed the young girl who was underweight, had dark circles under her eyes and thin hair, which she claimed was because Darr pulled it out to punish her. She also had blisters on her lips from when she was allegedly forced to eat food that Darr microwaved for up to 20 minutes.

The 11-year-old told caseworkers that Darr forced her to consume rotten leftovers from the fridge — then eat her own vomit when she threw the food back up.

Darr is also accused of causing the girl to bleed from throwing a phone at her head and then super-gluing the wound shut.

Officials accuse Darr of intimidating other children into lying to officers about the abuse and coaching them on what to say.

Darr, 36, faces charges for child abuse, endangerment and obstruction of a criminal investigation. She is set to appear Friday morning in Pinal County Superior Court.
