Woman, 28, found strangled and stabbed to death as partner, 30, charged with murder

Mark Sinclair, 30, was arrested after Kylie Dembry, 28, was found dead at a house in Theale, Reading.

Cops reckon she was strangled before being stabbed to death in the early hours of Thursday morning.

A Thames Valley Police spokesman said: "Mark Sinclair, aged 30 years, of Blossom Lane, Theale, was arrested yesterday in connection with the murder.

The force was called to Blossom Lane at 12.53am yesterday, after a report that a woman was seriously injured inside a property. Police officers and the South Central Ambulance Service attended the scene, but sadly the woman was pronounced dead.

"The victim has been identified as Kylie Dembrey, aged 28 years, of Theale.

"A post mortem examination was carried out and the cause of death has been established as shock and haemorrhage as a result of stab wounds to the chest and neck.

"There was also evidence of asphyxiation but this was not the cause of death/

Detective Chief Inspector Ailsa Kent added: “The charge of Mark Sinclair is a significant step in the investigation and I understand the community will have felt a sense of shock as a result of this incident.

"I want to reassure the public that we are conducting a detailed and thorough investigation as we prepare for court proceedings.

“Our priority now is Kylie Dembrey’s family, who are being supported by specialist Family Liaison Officers."
