William and Harry's relationship at 'all-time low after furious rows'

William and Harry’s relationship is at an ‘all-time low after a series of furious rows – including one just before they played in a charity polo game together in front of their families last July’

  • Harry and William had a ‘bitter war of words shortly before polo event last year’
  • They had a row shortly before playing against each other in front of their families
  • Claims emerged after princes denied William had ‘bullied’ Harry and Meghan
  • Sources also say that the relationship between princes is now at an all-time low

Prince William and Prince Harry’s relationship is at an all-time low following a series of furious rows, according to royal sources.

The bond between the princes, who released a statement yesterday dismissing reports of William ‘bullying’ Harry and his wife Meghan Markle, has apparently not recovered after a falling out shortly after baby Archie’s birth last year.

According to the source, Harry and William had a bitter war of words shortly before they were pictured at the King Power Royal Charity Polo Day at Billingbear Polo Club in Berkshire in July 2019 with their families.

The event was the first time the families had been seen together since Archie’s birth and both Harry and William played in a polo match for charity.

At the time, royal fans hailed the camaraderie between the brothers, as well as the excitement on Prince Louis’ face as he met his cousin Archie.

However, claims have now emerged that, despite the outward smiles, Harry and William had a furious row just before the event, the latest in a series of tense exchanges between them.

A source told the Sun: ‘It’s absolutely heartbreaking to see just how damaged William and Harry’s relationship has become.

‘They’ll always love each other as brothers, but right now things have never been so bad. William feels betrayed and let down by Harry.

‘Harry feels like William and Kate never gave Meghan a chance. And now they’re leaving the country in this state.’

William is believed to have warned Harry against marrying Meghan, while also feeling as if his brother’s relationship with the former actress had changed him.

Harry, meanwhile, chafed at his brother’s criticism and suggestion that he was rushing into his marriage.

It comes after William and Harry gave a rare display of public unity yesterday to condemn claims that the Duke of Sussex had been ‘bullied out’ of the Royal Family by his own brother.

Their joint statement described reports in The Times as ‘offensive and potentially harmful’ in light of their work on mental health.

It read: ‘Despite clear denials, a false story ran in a UK newspaper today speculating about the relationship between the Duke of Sussex and the Duke of Cambridge.

‘For brothers who care so deeply about the issues surrounding mental health, the use of inflammatory language in this way is offensive and potentially harmful.’

Rumours of strife between the brothers circled for much of last year, before Harry finally addressed them in his and Meghan’s ITV documentary with journalist Tom Bradby.

Asked to comment on rumours of a rift, Harry said: ‘Part of this role, part of this job and this family being under the pressure it is under, inevitably stuff happens.

‘But look, we are brothers, we will always be brothers. We are certainly on different paths at the moment but I will always be there for him and, as I know, he will always be there for me.’

He added: ‘We don’t see as much as we used to because we are so busy but I love him dearly and the majority of stuff is created out of nothing.

‘As brothers, you have good days, you have bad days.’

The latest claims come after Harry and William spent much of Monday afternoon at Sandringham with the Queen and Prince Charles to thrash out the Sussexes new role following their decision to quit the royal family.

The Queen approved Harry and Meghan’s desire to quit, although she admitted she was disappointed at their decision and wanted them to stay on as full-time working royals.

Harry and Meghan will now spend a ‘transitional period’ between Canada and the UK as the particulars of their new ‘progressive roles’ are worked out.
