A young woman is asking the public to pay for a return flight to Canada.
Nicole Fennelly, 22, said she and her family moved to Canada in 2012 but she decided to move back to Liverpool after the death of her nan in January.
Ten months on, however, Nicole said she "misses her mum" and wants to fly out to spend two weeks with her family.
The bar worker said she needs £400 to see her mum and two young sisters in February.
Despite working overtime to fund the trip, Nicole is struggling to afford the flight and has therefore launched a GoFundMe Page to help aid her cause, the Liverpool Echo reports.
The page had reached £115 as of 10.30am today – however Nicole said she will refund all the money if she doesn’t reach the target amount.
She said: "I was really depressed in Canada and always wanted to come back to Liverpool.
"And in January when my nan died I just felt like I needed to be back in my hometown.
"I did it all so fast, without thinking of the consequences, but I just really miss my mum and my two sisters and I want to see them for Christmas."
Due to her job Nicole said she cannot get time off in December, so has been looking at flights for February.
She said: "My mum keeps saying to me ‘come see me for Christmas’.
"I am doing every night shift I can to save money but the prices go up this time of year so I want to try and book in the next few weeks.
"I can’t explain what it would mean to me to see her.
"Not seeing your mum for this long, is so difficult."
Nicole, from Croxeth, said her mum suffers with mental health issues and cares for her young sister who has a disability so "deserves something nice to happen to her".
She added: "My mum is a hero. She doesn’t know I am trying to get out there and she would literally sob if I managed to get over there.
"I think if it was to happen I would message my step dad and get his help with it to keep it a surprise.
"I’ve been thinking about how I would do it. She has no idea I am thinking about going out there."
