Prince William and Kate Middleton may be living in a real life fairy tale, but even their relationship isn’t without its problems.
The pair famously broke-up in 2007 before reconciling and getting engaged in 2010.
However this wasn’t the first time the two separated as they had also done so once before back in 2004 during a summer break from university.
William is believed to have wanted space from the relationship and ended up going away with a friend.
However something about that trip really didn’t sit well with Kate.
According to The Express, the book, ‘The Duchess of Cambridge: How Kate Middleton Became A Future Queen’, reveals that the Duke of Cambridge went on holiday with his best friend Guy Pelly, who is now godfather to Prince Louis.
So what was the problem with this? Well, it turns out Guy had hired an all-female crew for their trip away.
The author of the book claims the Duchess of Cambridge was "miserable" when she found out about this.
Instead of heading away herself, the book says Kate went home to Berkshire to deal with the situation by spending time with her family.
While there her friends revealed that she "let her guard down" about her relationship with William for the first time.
"She got quite drunk on white wine and really let her guard down," they commented. "She was debating whether or not she should text or call him.
"She said how sad she was and how much she was missing William but never mentioned it after that."
Thankfully we all know that the story has a very happy ending.
William popped the question during a trip to Africa and gifted his bride-to-be his mother’s iconic engagement ring as a way to ensure Princess Diana was there with them throughout the excitement.
Kate and William were married in 2011 and have since started a family, having three children – Prince George, Princess Charlotte and Prince Louis.
