Vintage plane in Shoreham Airshow crash that killed 11 people 'was in very good condition'

The 1950s Hawker Hunter plunged to the ground and exploded after pilot Andrew Hill, 54, tried a loop stunt.

He survived but is accused of 11 counts of gross negligence manslaughter following the 2015 disaster at Shoreham Airshow, West Sussex.

Weald Aviation deputy chief engineer Fran Renouf told the Old Bailey the jet had been in “very good” condition with plenty of maintenance.

Senior engineer Mark Jenkins described Hill, of Sandon, Herts, as “always professional, by the book” and “safety conscious”.

Hill, who says he blacked out, denies the charges.

Trial continues.
