UK's oldest mum of quadruplets, 50, to go on Christmas clothes and gift shopping spree for miracle babies

Complications during her pregnancy caused doctors to fear all four may not survive.

However, Tracey overcame million-to-one odds to become the oldest UK mum of quads at age 50.

She said: “I decided to carry all four against medical advice. I realised the dangers and it was scary.

“It made me hide away. I didn’t prepare for them for fear of jinxing anything.”

She had a caesarean last month at 31 weeks and all four newborns were rushed to intensive care.

But only one — the second quad born at 1lb 15oz — remains in an incubator and they could all be home in London by Christmas.

Tracey yesterday told The Sun: “There’s so much to do in so little time. I’ve bought nappies in bulk, got hold of four car seats and cribs.

“And I’m ordering a special double-double buggy from Australia. My husband Stephen and I are doing everything together.”

The quads, conceived via IVF, will be discharged one by one with the only boy of the bunch, who weighed 3lb 10oz, expected home first by the end of this month.

Tracey, now a mum of seven and gran to eight, added: “We’ll be splashing out on treats at Christmas.

“It will be magical to be together as a family. I’m the happiest woman alive and can’t wait to spoil them.”
