Tragic final post of missing man, 21, before he vanished during family holiday

A missing young man posted a tragic final post on Facebook moments his disappearance.

Jai Ellis, 21, was on holiday with his family at Fingal Bay, near Sydney, when he was reported missing on Tuesday morning.

His car was found parked near the Tweed River and body, which is yet to be formally identified as the 21-year-old’s, was later found.

Mr Ellis, of Queensland, Australia, caused panic among his friends when he took to Facebook on Monday night.

He wrote: "I love you all, goodbye."

A large-scale land and water search was conducted by a number of emergency services.


Police are treating the death as non suspicious and a report is being prepared for the coroner. 

Friends attempted to reach out to Mr Ellis after he posted the message on Facebook.

One said: "Are you okay Jai? PM if you need some support. Your old teacher can be of help." 


Another added: "Jai mate you always have someone here who would be happy to help out, just send a little pm and I’m sure whoever receives would be more than willing to be there for you."

His family initially took to social media asking for anyone who might have seen him.

Tributes to the 21-year-old later appeared online.
