A vicious thief beat a woman unconscious and robbed her — while her 4-year-old son looked on helplessly, authorities said.
The stranger approached the 35-year-old woman and her young child around 2 p.m. Monday while they were walking on 84th Street near Atlantic Avenue in Ozone Park, Queens.
“Give me your bag,” he ordered, before suddenly beating her — punching her in the face, head, chest and back until she was unconscious, police said.
The man then ran off with the woman’s purse, but caught the attention of good Samaritans, who gave chase.
He got away by climbing onto the roof of a CVS on Atlantic Avenue, where witnesses lost sight of him, police said.
The victim was treated and released at a local hospital for bruising and swelling. Her son was not injured.
Cops are still looking for the thief, whom they describe as being 40 to 50 years old, approximately 5-foot-8 to 5-foot-9 and 150 pounds.
