Three teen boys, 15 and 16, arrested after pensioner, 84, found dead at Southsea home

THREE teenage boys have been arrested after an 84-year-old man was found dead at his home.

The teens – two 15-year-olds and one 16-year-old – were taken into custody after Anthony Berry was found in Southsea, Portsmouth.

Mr Berry's body was discovered at his terraced home in the Southsea area of Portsmouth, Hants, on the morning of November 8.

Hampshire Constabulary said the teenagers, who are all from Portsmouth, have since been released from custody but remain under investigation.

They were arrested on suspicious of manslaughter after the pensioner's death in Manners Road.

Superintendent Steve Burridge, District Commander for Portsmouth, said: "At this time, we do believe this was an isolated incident.

"We are currently working to establish the full circumstances of the death."

He added: "Local officers are focusing patrols in the area to reassure residents and are continuing to make enquiries, so if you live in the vicinity and have any concerns or any information, do not hesitate to speak to them."
