Three children taken to hospital after car ploughs into them outside school

Three schoolchildren have been taken to hospital after a car ploughed into them outside a school.

The road outside the Hoe Valley School in Woking, Surrey was closed for almost two hours as police investigated what caused the collision this afternoon.

A spokesman for the Kent, Surrey and Sussex Air Ambulance Trust said an air ambulance attended the scene and was dispatched from Redhill at around 4.10pm.

The severity of the injuries for the three pupils is not known at this stage, reports Surrey Live .

A spokesman for Surrey Police said: "We are appealing for witnesses following a collision outside Hoe Valley School in Woking earlier this afternoon.

"We received reports that three students had been involved in a collision with a car in Egley Road around 4.05pm.

"All three are being taken to hospital to be treated for their injuries.

"The air ambulance was in attendance.

"The road is currently closed in both directions but is expected to re-open shortly.

"Anyone with any information is asked to contact us on 101, quoting incident reference PR/P18226369."
