Suspect reveals hiding spot to police after farting too loudly

A Missouri suspect became his own worst enemy when he revealed his hiding spot by letting out an overly loud fart.

On Tuesday, the Clay County Sheriff’s Office announced on Facebook that the Liberty Police Department had arrested the unidentified man, who had been wanted for possession of a controlled substance, after he couldn’t control his bodily urges.

“If you’ve got a felony warrant for your arrest, the cops are looking for you and you pass gas so loud it gives up your hiding spot, you’re definitely having a ? day. ? #ItHappened,” it wrote.

The post, which has been liked more than 2,400 times, drew laughter from fellow Facebook users, who praised law enforcement for nabbing the suspect.

“This is the best thing ever right here,” one person replied. “Perfect ending to a good day reading your story. I heard this all way down in Sarasota Florida. thank you I needed that good laugh today. Totally priceless, this story is totally going viral.”

Even the Liberty Police Department joined in on the fun on Twitter.

“Thanks to @SheriffClayCo for airing out a wanted person’s dirty laundry and fanning the flames,” it wrote. “The Liberty Police Department was surprised to see this incident slip out, which stinks for the arrestee. Fortunately, no one was injured during his arrest #nervousbelly #nocomment.”

As of Thursday afternoon, no other details have been released regarding the suspect or his arrest.
