Supercar drivers are flouting the law by removing their registration plates because they spoil the look of their sleek vehicles.
Dozens of wealthy owners living in the most exclusive areas of London have dispensed with plates on their Lamborghinis and Ferraris.
Registration plates on the front and rear of vehicles is mandatory in the UK and a failure to display them can lead to a fine.
Owners of high performance cars have been flouting traffic laws about showing their number plates on the front of their vehicle such as this Ferrari 488 parked in Mayfair

Despite being a flagrant breach of the law, owners have been spotted brazenly driving their £200,000 supercars without plates.
The offending cars are regularly seen parading through the streets in Mayfair, Chelsea and Westminster.

One witness said: ‘It seems to be one rule for them and one rule for us and the police appear to be turning a blind eye to it.
‘If an ordinary car decided to dispense with plates you’d be stopped within minutes but in London there are Ferraris and Lamborghinis without plates which drive through the streets with impunity.
‘Apparently the owners take off the registration plates because they are clunky and ugly and ruin their suave, superrich image.’

He said: ‘It’s all about image so in order to display their cars in the best light rich posers are simply taking the plates off.
‘It’s against the law yet no-one seems to be pulling them over to remind them of this.’
The Drivers and Vehicle Licensing Agency (DVLA) said all cars registered after October 1 1938 must display a front and rear number plate and confirmed it was an offence not to display one.
A spokesman added that it was the responsibility of the police to ensure this law was enforced.
The Met Police declined to comment over why there were so many cars on London streets without plates.
A spokeswoman for the National Police Chief’s Council (NPCC) said: ‘Driving without a registration plate is illegal. If drivers are spotted without them by police they will stopped and appropriate action taken.’
