UK outlook for Saturday December 1 to Tuesday December 4
The weekend will bring a mix of sunshine and showers in Scotland, otherwise a cloudy start with rain across central and southern areas. Slowly turning drier in the afternoon, but remaining largely cloudy.
Moving into Sunday, expect it to stay largely unsettled over the next few days with showers or longer spells of rain. Brighter spells are likely at times, particularly in the north. It will start turning colder by Tuesday.
UK outlook for Wednesday December 5 to Saturday December 29
Southeastern parts star wet on Wednesday, but rain will clear.
This will lead to a cold night and a widespread frost for Thursday, but many will begin bright before wet and windy weather arrives.
After this it is likely to be more unsettled with further spells of wet and windy weather, with drier, brighter and showery interludes. Rain will be heavy at times, particularly in western and southwestern areas.
Gales are likely at times, and overall temperatures will be on the mild side for most, with any colder spells confined to the north.
The middle of December show signs that it will turn unsettled again with more generally wet and windy weather affecting the UK.
This will bring heavy rain and gales or severe gales, with a chance that it may even turn stormy at times. Overall, it is likely to be mild across much of the country with snow tending to be confined to hills in the north. However, in any drier interludes it will turn colder.
