Prince Michael of Kent dodged a ban on royal visits to Russia following outrage over the Skripal Novichok poisonings

Politicians and royals steered clear of summer’s World Cup as Theresa May severed normal ties after the Salisbury attack.



But Prince Michael, dubbed “Kentski” due to his resemblance to ancestor Tsar Nicholas II, quietly got Foreign Office permission to go.

He slipped into Russia to open the £25million Brookes Moscow School on September 19 — amid fury as two Russian agents who carried out the attack were revealed.


Prince Michael, 76, has lucrative business ties to Moscow.

He is patron of 16 Russia-based charities and financial institutions.

His spokesman confirmed he opened the Moscow school.
