Police are hoping to reunite a purse with its owner – more than 30 years after it was lost.
Containing two old £10 notes and a handful of corroded coins, it was found in 1987 but never reunited with its owner.
Officers in Lincolnshire have posted a photograph of the red leather purse and its contents on Facebook with the message: ‘So far, we have established it possibly belongs to a female called Diane who had connections with a person called Lee who both lived in the Market Deeping area.’
The purse contained two old £10 notes and a handful of corroded coins and was found in 1987 but never reunited with its owner
Ironically, police take less interest in more recently discovered cash.
Earlier this year, chief constables agreed that all forces would stop taking reports of lost property.
