Police searching for a mother-of-two, 35, who vanished five weeks ago find a body near a river

Police searching for a missing mother have found a body near a South Wales river.

Kimberley Kettlety, 35, has not been seen for four weeks and her family were becoming increasingly worried.

Police today confirmed that the body of a woman had been found close to the River Usk, in Caerleon, near Newport.

A spokesman for the force said: ‘While formal identification has yet to take place, the family of Kimberley Kettlety have been informed of this development.’

He added that the death is not being treated as suspicious.

Kimberly has two boys Ethan aged 11, and Max, seven, with her husband Gareth, who she is now separated from.

She was last seen in her home city of Newport, South Wales, on November 8.

Gareth made a passionate plea for her to come home, saying: ‘Come home, the boys are missing you. They really want you home for Christmas.’

Gareth said Max – who is autistic – thinks his mother is playing hide and seek.

He said: ‘My youngest is a bit more sensitive, but they both know now. The youngest thinks it’s a game of hide and seek.

‘She is a great person. She helped a lot of people. She was the best at helping people but could not help herself.’

Her husband Gareth Kettlety (pictured with sons Max and Ethan) has been leading a campaign to track down the 35-year-old by organising search parties and handing out leaflets
