Philippines protesters mark 32nd anniversary of People Power

President Rodrigo Duterte skips ‘People Power’ commemoration as protesters denounce his ‘authoritarian tendencies’.

    The Philippines is celebrating the country’s return to democracy, It has been 32 years since the end of the Ferdinand Marcos dictatorship.

    But some fear President Rodrigo Duterte is trying to bring back the era of the strongman.

    And while the current leader skipped the commemorations, his policies were front and centre.
