WELSH drivers have blasted "crazy" English stockpilers who are jumping the border into Wales to fill their petrol tanks.
Ben Whittaker "couldn't believe his eyes" when he saw a panic-buying family filling up jerry cans with gas in his hometown of Llangollen, Wales yesterday.
He blames English drivers "coming in" from nearby towns such as Chester or Shrewsbury to top up in rural forecourts, as the pump chaos – caused by hoarders and a shortage of HGV drivers – continues.
Amid the "crazy" hoarders, Ben spotted a family with a young child filling cans of petrol, before taking it to their mini which was parked yards down the road.
Ben told the Sun: "I got out from seeing my boy this morning and there's people with jerry cans.
"They must be coming in from the city. It is crazy.
"I just couldn't believe my eyes. Something happened on the news in the morning, and within an hour the whole country is just going crazy."
He fears Wales border towns will "run out" of fuel entirely.
And he's not the only Welsh driver blaming English hoarders.
One Welsh petrol station worker said he was contacted by a customer wanting to drive into to the country just to top up.
He wrote on Twitter: "Where is the logic in that.
"Phoning from Birmingham to see if fuel in Machynlleth. The utter lunacy of it.
"Seems they were thinking of driving to Wales to get fuel so they didn't run out."
Others noted the stark differences between Wales and England.

One driver said: "If it makes you feel better, I came back home from Mid Wales and the petrol stations in Llanidloes and Caersws seemed perfectly normal.
"Seems it's only in England where idiots live. That or Mid Wales is so sparsely populated there's not enough people to run a station dry."
Katie added: "Just come back from West Wales. Petrol stations were not overwhelmed there this weekend.
"Didn’t see panic buying really until we got into England but I’m sure that can change."
Nerrera wrote: "I'm in Wales and absolutely no signs of any queues for petrol at least near me.
"Feels surreal watching the queues in England."
Motor store Halfords revealed sales of jerry cans rocketed by a whopping 1,656% this weekend as Brits stockpiled fuel.
Up to 90 per cent of all service stations outside of motorways are now dry as Brits raced to fill up their motors and the PM was urged to "act now" to avoid even worse chaos.
Brawls have broken out on petrol station forecourts as frustrated drivers clashed while queuing at pumps – turning on each other in shocking scenes.
Yesterday, footage showed the shocking moment a driver pulled a "knife" on a motorist, before being run over in a "row over petrol".
The man, clenching what appears to be a knife in his right hand, was filmed shouting at the driver through his car window just outside of a petrol station in Welling, South East London.
