Off-duty NYPD cop dies after motorcycle collides with car in Queens

An NYPD cop lost his life Saturday after he was thrown from his motorcycle in a collision with a car on the Cross Island Parkway in Queens, sources told the Post.

The officer, who had been assigned to homeless outreach but was recently working COVID-19 response, was on his way to work, the sources said.

The Post is withholding the officer’s name, which by early Sunday has not been confirmed by officials.

He was rear-ended by a 2014 BMW around 5:30 p.m. near the Bell Boulevard exit in Bay Terrace, the sources said.

He was rushed to Booth Memorial Medical Center in critical condition, according to the sources.

The driver remained at the scene.
