  • MailOnline has established that she is PR Lucy Meadmore hired by Meghan
  • She was employed to help the Duchess promote her now closed lifestyle blog

A mystery British friend of Meghan Markle who appeared in the Duke and Duchess’ Netflix documentary is actually a PR that she hired to help promote her now closed lifestyle blog.

Lucy Fraser’s appearance on the series raised eyebrows as no-one appeared to know who she was but MailOnline has established she is Lucy Meadmore and attended Harry and Meghan’s wedding in 2018.

She told the show how she had advised Meghan on how to deal with the British media and revealed how they had planned her ‘single girl summer’ in 2016 as they holidayed through Europe.

Prince Harry and Meghan Markle rallied the troops to tout their ‘side of the story’ in their bombshell Netflix documentary – calling on everyone from tennis pro Serena Williams to Suits producers and former PAs to offer up emotive on-screen tales about their love story, their experiences within the royal family, and the Duchess’ struggles with paparazzi.

Many people shared glowing recollections of Meghan’s talents as an actress, her warm personality – and backed up the Duchess’s own stories about the sacrifices she had to make in order to make her relationship with Harry work, particularly when it came to the couple’s battles with the paparazzi and press.

It appears no stone was left unturned in the Sussexes’ search for friends, family, and acquaintances eager to echo the couple’s personal re-telling of ‘their story’.

But beyond their on-screen appearances and quotes, the line-up of friends, former colleagues, and ex-employees – including Meghan’s old agent and assistant – reveals a glimpse into exactly who remains inside the Sussexes’ inner circle.

In the first three episodes of the programme, Doria Ragland, the Duchess of Sussex’s mother, spoke on camera about her daughter’s relationship with Prince Harry for the first time.

Fans were also introduced to a number of friends of the couple, with the likes of tennis great Serena Williams taking part, as well as Meghan’s lawyer niece Ashleigh and Harry’s polo playing model friend Ignacio.

Ahead of its release today, the streaming giant promised that ‘friends and family’ would give viewers a personal insight into the couple and their relationship.

In the documentary, Lucy said she ‘warned’ her friend about the British press.

She also described going to Harry and Meghan’s engagement party where everyone was dressed in animal onesies, with the Sussexes appearing as penguins because they keep their ‘mates for life’.

On screen Lucy is described as a friend and says of Meghan:’ She had planned her single-girl summer and she had a lot of plans of going around Europe.’

In one photograph posted on social media, Lucy is described by Meghan as her ‘London bestie’ as they lay on a bed together giggling in a hotel room.

The caption reads: ‘Those late nights when your London bestie comes to keep you company at your hotel. Thanks @luc7m for keeping my bed warm’

In another Meghan is pictured in Greece on her now closed The Tig lifestyle blog with Lucy and another close pal Lindsay Jill Roth, who also appeared in the Netflix documentary.

Other photos show her in London in 2015 with Lucy as they pose on a street wearing Miu Miu sunglasses and all three are in another picture on a hotel bed in Greece.

Lucy attended Harry and Meghan’s wedding and was described as a ‘long time friend of the bride’ on the official guest list

Lucy, who has worked for several PR firms including Freuds, before branching out and starting her own firm was pictured at Harry and Meghan’s Windsor wedding walking into St George’s with Meghan’s other close friend’s Abigail Spencer and Priyanka Chopra.

On the official guest list Lucy was described as a ‘long time friend of the bride’ and it is also believed she was one of the ‘five friends’ authorised to speak to US magazine People magazine in 2019 and who criticised her father Thomas after excerpts of a letter he wrote to her were leaked.

The Duchess is thought to have met Lucy in 2014 and asked her to help write her The Tig blog and the two travelled to Costa Rica to write a feature about the central American country.

The Duchess of Sussex used The Tig, her lifestyle blog, to reflect on the full spectrum of human experience — from hot sauces to self-love.

She often praised her mother Doria Ragland, a yoga therapist who was the only member of her family at her wedding, and father Thomas Markle, from whom she remains estranged.

Recalling her first sip, she wrote: ‘It was an ah-ha moment at its finest. For me it became a ‘Tig’ moment – a moment of getting it.’

When Meghan closed down her lifestyle blog in April 2017 before announcing her engagement to Prince Harry later that year, she described it as a ‘passion project’ that ‘evolved into an amazing community of inspiration, support, fun and frivolity’.

According to Companies House records Lucy was the director of two now closed PR firms – Project Smooth Ltd and LERMEADMORE – but it is not clear if Fraser is her married name or an alias for the documentary.

Lucy, who is thought to live in Teddington, south west London, could not be contacted for comment.
