Mum’s agony as police officer fiancé, 28, found dead 6 years after her boyfriend, 20, died and left behind their baby – The Sun

A MOTHER has suffered a second heartbreak after her fiancé was found dead – six years after her boyfriend died.

Laura McRonald was devastated after her partner Jamie Lynch, a 28-year-old police officer, lost his life after plunging from the Clackmannshire Bridge over the Firth of Forth, Scotland.

After a full-scale search got underway last Sunday, he was pulled from the river, but nothing could be done to save him.

Heartbreakingly, his death is the second awful blow to Ms McRonald, whose previous partner died suddenly in 2014 – just weeks after welcoming their first child.

PC Lynch, a respected officer, of Kilwinning, Ayrshire, had over nine years full service after joining up from school.

He lost his life shortly after going missing from his home, leaving Ms McRonald broken along with their four-month-old daughter.

There are not believed to be any suspicious circumstances surrounding his death.

A source tragically revealed how the pair were due to get married later this year.

"They got engaged in September last year and had a party," they revealed.

"It's a terrible tragedy for her as she lost her first partner in 2014 and after all the heartache she suffered it seemed she had found happiness again with Jamie.

"This is absolutely devastating for her and her little girl to lose another loved one in tragic circumstances."

The first tragedy to befall Ms McRonald occured after her previous partner Andrew Gallacher went missing.

His disappearance occured just days after she and Mr Gallacher had received keys to their first family home with their newborn.

In what should have been a joyous occasion, quickly turned into heartache after he was discovered dead just days after his family issued a missing person appeal.

Police chiefs said the force had been left “deeply saddened” by the loss of PC Lynch.

Assistant Chief Constable Steve Johnson, said: “We are deeply saddened to confirm the death of a colleague who died near Kincardine on Sunday.

"The death of a colleague affects everyone within the organisation.

"I will be visiting the officer’s family, friends and colleagues to offer our deepest sympathy."

In worrying circumstances, the recent death of the fallen cop comes after four other Police Scotland colleagues died suddenly – in the space of just three months.
