  • She sprayed her son Jacob’s hair with the red stuff and was pleased with result
  • But to her horror when she checked the bottle realised it was spray paint not dye
  • Could not get paint out of hair for hours and her funny post has now gone viral

A mother has gone viral after she revealed she accidentally covered her son’s hair with spray paint as part of his Halloween costume.

Ashlee Myers, 26, from Bradford, bought what she thought was a bottle of spray-on hair dye from her local pound shop to complete her son Jacob’s Halloween costume.

But the mother-of-five was devastated when after thoroughly covering the schoolboy’s hair and scalp she checked the bottle and discovered it was spray paint.

In her post on Facebook, which has been ‘liked’ on Facebook more than 40,000 times, she wrote: ‘Feel like worst parent in world. Got hair spray from pound shop right with all Halloween stuff ….Spray it on thought yeah looks ace that.

‘Finished up thought smells a bit strong Looked at label ITS F****** SPRAY PAINT I’ve fully dyed his f****** head and chances are i need to shave his head coz after 30 min scrubbing I CANT GET IT OUT!!!!!’

Luckily for little Jacob, Ashlee and her husband managed to finally get the spray paint off with the help of a bottle of washing up liquid and a very long shower.

 She said: ‘Between me and my husband we managed to fix it… washing up liquid is amazing stuff.’
