The curious primate, Twitch, tries his hand at being a mechanic and picks up screws on bolts and fits them into holes on the car’s wheels.
Darrell Reid, 57, from Electra, Texas, adopted the 10-year-old capuchin monkey in 2008 when he was just a few weeks old.

Mr Reid, who works in the oil business, said: ‘Twitch always watches me doing mechanics and it fascinates him.
‘Ever since we got him as a baby, he’s always loved playing with mechanical parts.

‘Myself and my family go to drag race meets every week so there’s always work to be done on the cars.

The monkey is a local celebrity in Texas and has been helping to fix Mr Reid’s car since he was young
Mr Reid says that Twitch, who roams freely around his house, is a local celebrity where he lives.
He said: ‘It’s unusual to have a pet monkey and people love him.
‘He’s a great character and I love having him around the house.
Mr Reid also has another pet capuchin, an 11-year-old female named Dinky, who is Twitch’s ‘playmate’
When Twitch isn’t being a mechanic he loves to watch his favourite reality TV shows like Judge Judy and Dr Phil

He said: ‘He loves watching Dr Phil and Judge Judy on TV.
‘He’s a great character and I couldn’t imagine life without him.’
Capuchin monkeys originate from Central and South America. They were made popular after being featured in films such as Pirates of the Caribbean and Night at the Museum.
