Moment thug hurls a bystander to the ground in a horrific attack outside an east London pub that left the victim with a fractured skill and a bleed to the brain

  • A man was left with a fractured skull and bleed to the brain after being hit 
  • Detectives are investigating the attack in Barking on April 6, at around 11.15pm
  • The attacker is around 5ft 5in tall, and with short, dark coloured hair

Shocking footage of a man being punched to the ground outside a London pub has been released by detectives as they hunt for the unknown attacker.

CCTV from Station Parade, Barking has shown how the victim was hanging around in the street when he was attacked.

The assailant came from behind a group of three men with his hood up before striding towards his victim and swinging a punch at his face, at around 11.15pm on April 6.

The man was knocked to the ground where he lay motionless, as his attacker fled the scene.

Security staff in the doorway of the pub stood motionless while passersby knelt down to check on the man.  

After being hit, the 31-year-old victim’s head struck the pavement. 

He sustained a fractured skull and bleed to the brain, and required treatment at an east London hospital.

He has since been discharged but still suffers a number of side effects as a result of the attack, including recurrent headaches.

Officers from East Area Command Unit CID have now released an image and CCTV footage of a man they want to speak to in connection with the attack, and want anyone who knows who he is to contact police.

The man is left sprawled on the floor with his arms out as the attacker flees the scene 

No arrest has yet been made in connection with the incident.

The man is described as of Eastern European appearance in his mid-20s. He is around 5ft 5in tall, and with short, dark-coloured hair.

He was wearing a bomber-style jacket with light-coloured arms, a grey zip-up top, blue jeans and black trainers.

Police are looking for this man who was seen exiting the pub before the attack at around 11.15pm
